Competitive 1v1

Dead by Daylight Competitive Maps

Competitive duels are not played on random maps. Each killer in the 1v1 pool has a fixed map, chosen so the chase is decided by the players rather than by whatever the map generator happened to produce that round.

That is the whole point of a fixed pool: if both players know the ground, the only variable left is how well they play it.

Why a fixed map per killer

Dead by Daylight generates its maps procedurally, so two runs of the same map can hand one player a chain of strong loops and the other almost nothing. Over a long match that evens out. Over a single chase, it decides the result.

Fixing the map per killer removes that. Both players have run the same ground dozens of times, so a win means someone actually played better, which is the only thing a rating system should be measuring.
